Computer no longer runs games

Hello! My son keeps getting error messages when he tries to install a game. The message reads:

Failed to initialize renderer.
Nixadapterdesc::getdevicecaps()failed

He says that one day his games failed to run...they would begin loading and quit. He then uninstalled SIMS 3 and attempted to reinstall it when he received the above message.


Any ideas?

That is usually an error for a game called
Oblivion:Oblivion - UESPWiki
Oblivion:Oblivion Support - UESPWiki

Also,
Sims can be very troublesome and needs a lot of resources to run properly

I recommend you go to the Sims forum...the members are experts in trouble shooting Sims

Thanks. I believe he gets that error for Oblivion as well, in fact I'm sure of it. Unless you have some special information regarding that situation, I will try the SIMS forums.
