Drop in savings
Hi.
I have small but annoying problem.
It started about a month ago and I did not install this.
It is "Drop in savings" for coupons. I did not install any coupons.
Every time I go on internet and browse around there it is it pops out.
I want to delete this. I look in the controller panel and there is nothing that shows Drop in savings.
I also look in my system such as program files and others but couldn't find anything with that name.
I also look on the web and there is website called "Dropinsaving" and they show how to installed but there is nothing on how to remove it.
I would like to get rid this pest.
I have updated no brand PC with windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Processor Intel Core i5 3.3 GHz
Memory 8 GB
WD hard drive 500 GB

The mods may want you do go to the Spyware Forum @ H2G
But the below info may be helpful
Which browser?....I believe each has its own issues...the info below is generic for all
(Specific to IE9 is Tools >Manage Add-ons and remove the toolbar/popup...still follow the instructions below too)
You can try this:
Look for the dropinsavings coupon toolbar?
Open control panel > uninstall programs and check for additional toolbars.
Try opting out of Drop in Savings - This will uninstall the toolbar
DropInSavings - Easy to Use Coupon Toolbar | Opt-out
============================
Then;
Start > Type msconfig
Click on Startup Tab
Look for dropinsavings listing
Uncheck all dropinsavings listings
Click Apply, Ok
Reboot computer for changes to take effect. You shouldn't see the offers dropping down after that.
Be sure to check "don't show me this again" on restart or the msconfig utility nag screen will appear each reboot.
=============================
Finally run the programs in my signature belowSIGNATURE...When I post info I assume you have already read this link

You would probably be better off... if a spyware expert helped you with a Hijackthis log etc
Refer them to this thread too... Drop in savings
Spyware Help
I doubt you have IE7?...you most likely have IE9...if not that could be an issue
Sorry, best I can do....good luck
Click Help>About Internet Explorer...to see your version
You could try another Browser....but the bad stuff is still on your computer...this seems to be a pesky program
Actually, used by some people as a preferable way to get coupons...but disliked by most and difficult to remove
Obviously not a recommended websiteSIGNATURE...When I post info I assume you have already read this link

Hi abseh1 & perky,
Lets run a scan with DDS and see what can find out:
Download DDS from http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds and save it to your Desktop. Alternate DDS download link from here http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr
Vista users right click on dds and select Run as administrator (you will receive a UAC prompt, please allow it)
* XP users Double click on dds to run it.
* If your antivirus or firewall try to block DDS then please allow it to run.
* When finished DDS will open two (2) logs:
1) DDS.txt
2) Attach.txt
* Save both logs to your desktop.
* Please include the entire contents of both logs in your next reply.
Note: DDS will instruct you to post the Attach.txt log as an attachment.
Please just post it as you would any other log by copy and pasting it into the reply.
Joe..
Mods feel free to move thread to Spyware, or just leave it here..Last edited by zep516; 02-07-2012 at 05:40 PM.

Thank You All.
I thought that this is going to easy fix.
Since this is older hard drive I have decided to purchase a new hard drive with litle more space
and use this one as a external drive for photos and other items.
I need external hard drive anyway.
Thank You very much
