    Hi jimlee38,

A few questions first. What operating System does your wife's computer have, XP, Vista, Windows 7? What is the model name of that computer?

Who makes or manufactures the dongle? In case we might need to locate a driver for it.

Did the dongle come with a CD? This cd is sometimes necessary to run and install any needed drives so the computer recognizes the device.

    Hi,

Try it once more, take the dongle out. Reboot the computer let it come back to the desktop. Now reinstall the cd that came with the dongle with the dongle out, once that is done, insert the dongle. See if that procedure helps. You may have gone through this exercise already. Let me know if you did this already.

EDIT Is this the dongle as seen HERE

    Hi Jim,

Just wanted to touch base short on time. Let me think about this I have no luck with these devices either. Do you at least see the networking computers located down by the clock, if so can you right click on them or it and notice available options there. Like repair or something. Also in the network connections window where you see the others is there an option to "Show all connections" can you connect to any of the ones shown? Usually there secured but try it. Also with the dongle connected, turn the router off by un-plugging it for 30 seconds, then replug it in.

    Joe..
