Wireless Keeps Disconnecting
I have had a Belkin N150 wireless router since early January and for the last three months my laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium would keep disconnecting from it, I know it's not the router cause my sisters laptop never disconnects. At first i though it was the lease, but it keeps showing 2130 and 7 days later. I also thought it was the firewall settings, but I turned every firewall off on my laptop. I am not too sure on what I should check now, considering it's only on my laptop that disconnects. I always check for updates on the computer that the router is connect to and it always says that it is up to date. Although it only happens once a week having to go downstairs to where the router is just to unplug the router and replug it is really annoying. I made sure to download the latest drivers for the wireless card too and now I am about to throw my laptop out of my second story window
, please help me!!

Hi Joltlord,
Try this exercise,
Copy and paste the text in the code box below into Notepad.
Save as flush.bat to your desktop.Code:@Echo on pushd\windows\system32\drivers\etc attrib -h -s -r hosts echo 127.0.0.1 localhost>HOSTS attrib +r +h +s hosts popd ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew ipconfig /flushdns netsh winsock reset all netsh int ip reset all shutdown -r -t 1 del %0
Double-click flush.bat file to run it. Your computer will reboot.
Note: For Windows Vista or Windows 7, right-click flush.bat and select "Run as Administrator" .
No luck there, please try below:
Windows 7 and Vista
From the Start menu, select Control Panel, or Settings and then Control Panel.Double-click Network and Sharing Center.
From the list of tasks on the left, click Change adapter settings (in Windows 7), or Manage network connections (in Vista).
For a wired network connection, right-click Local Area Connection, and then select Properties.
For a wireless network connection, right-click Wireless Network Connection, and then select Properties.
From the Networking tab, click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), make sure it is checked, and then click Properties.
Click Obtain an IP Address Automatically, and then click OK.
Let us know.

well I did the flush.bat thing just a few minutes ago and as for the protocol settings it was already set to obtain ip automatically, as it happens every 5-7 days and it had happened shortly before I posted this thread I won't know the results for a while, but after a week I will post any results from the flush.bat.

I apologize if double posting is frowned upon, but I felt this was necessary, I just had to unplug and replug my router again, so neither of the solutions given before worked at all, if there are any other things I can do please say so

I would call your router support and tell them the problem
Ask them if they can help you set up binding via the wireless router using a mac address
Binding and assigning a mac address.... should stop the laptop from disconnecting @ least not disconnecting so often
They are usually very helpful on the phone and can talk you through it ....each router company has a step by step procedureSIGNATURE...When I post info I assume you have already read this link

Also try to eliminate any local interference.
Move the laptop to the same area as the computer that does not disconnect, and see if the problem re-occurs.
Simple things like the signal having to pass a TV; through a wall with a power cable; TV signal sender units; microwaves; and even a kettle can interrupt the signal enough to cause a temporary drop.
If this does make a difference, either try to permanently remove the problem item, or you can buy a USB signal booster for your laptop.Always remember you're unique.
...Just like everyone else!
If your problem is solved, here's how to say thanks!
Windows XP
Windows Vista
Windows 7

Strangely I think that flush worked and all I needed to do was reset the router, cause I haven't been disconnected from it since the last time, thanks for the help
