If you experience problems when you use the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer, try to view the same Web site by using the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer. If the problem occurs in both versions of Internet Explorer, you must determine whether the problem is caused by a Web object or if the problem is caused by Internet Explorer.

Differences between the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Internet Explorer that are included in the x64-based versions of Windows Server 2003 and in Windows XP Professional x64 Edition

    Hi,

Lets keep throwing the kitchen sink at it........

    Try using System File Checker,
System File Checker merely makes sure that all system files are where they should be. The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.
Open an Elevated Command Prompt window. To do so, click Start, then type cmd in the Start Search box. In the results area, right-click cmd.exe, and then click Run as administrator. You will be prompted to type the password for an administrator account. Click Continue if you are the administrator or type the administrator password. Then, click Continue.

At the command prompt, type the following command, sfc /scannow and then press ENTER.

The scan may take some time to complete. Windows will repair any corrupted or missing files that it finds. If required, Windows may prompt you to insert the Operating System CD.

Ok.. That's encouraging! I gave you a link above so you would somewhat understand the difference between IE 64 Bit and 32 Bit was that helpful for you? Where do we stand now as lots has been done? What errors and problems remain?

    Yes it did help thanks.

Generally it seems OK but once in a while IE9 slows right down. When that happens, Chrome seems OK.

I'm still on IE8 and it seems no better than 9

I'm confused, but don't worry it's been like that all day

You have IE8 and IE9 installed at the moment?

But there's 2 versions of IE on that computer IE9 and IE9 64Bit, both are gone? I'm slightly unfamiliar with this, so I too am learning today.
