    Default Help with 2 yr old dell desktop

    Cannot get internet access for the dell. Have wireless set up in the home, but the dell keeps trying to do dial up I am guessing because of the other owners. I have installed the connection wizard in options, the computer is showing that the connection is available, but not giving the option and browser access...help please?

    Hi bigjohnb,

    Welcome to Help2Go!


    • go to start
    • go to control panel
    • go to phone and modems icon
    • now check to see wich modems are being used
    • select your intergrated modem only and disable it then reboot


    NEXT
    • go to start
    • go to my computer
    • go to device manager
      Look for your integrated modem ( left click ( properties at the bottom select the drop down box and select (do not use this device/ disable this device)


    Reboot!
