Default Word and Excel stopped working after system restore

Title says it all. I did a system restore and Word and Excel won't open.

    It says the following:

Microsoft Word Starter 2010 cannot be opened. Try again or repair the product in Control Panel.

I tried about 10 times and get the same message. I don't know where to go in Control Panel.

    Thanks.

    Hi otep12,

    Try the following:

    • Click Start, then click Control Panel.
    • Click Programs and Features.
    • Right click the Office program that you want to repair, then click Change.
    • Click Repair, then click Continue.

You might need to restart your computer after the repair is complete.

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks Donna. Right clicking Microsoft Office will ask you to unistall the program. Word and Excel are not listed on the menu individually. I wil try to update Microsoft Office and see if that works. Just figuring out now how to do it.

    Hi Otep12,

My name is Deepa and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. I can see you have been given some useful steps by few other people and you will also be trying to update the microsoft office. If all these steps did not help to resolve the issue you can also try to redownload the office starter. Following is the link to download Micrcosoft Office Starter:-
Microsoft Office Starter 2010 free download - Software reviews, downloads, news, free trials, freeware and full commercial software - Downloadcrew

    For further assistance please reply.
