    Default Boot issues

Hi, please could someone advise me? I have a laptop (Advent), running windows 7. I have to boot it numerous times before it finally boots properly & gives me the desktop. I'm almost certain the operating system has somehow become corrupt, hence the booting problems, but I'm I guessing right or could it be something else please? Thank youy

    Hi Number7,

What is the error message if any when it fails to boot?

Hi zeph16, there's no error messages, it just takes 3 or 4 attempts for win7 to boot up, and then also I can't uninstall certain programmes....?

Hi Zep516 sorry for getting your name wrong earlier I apologise. I still have problems booting (takes 4-5 attempts), there are no error messages, it just takes a few attempts to boot. But also I'm finding that I can't uninstall certain programmes.

    Hi,

I need to ask for some log reports to get a base line of something to work with...

Download HijackThis from here HiJackThis | Free software downloads at SourceForge.net to the Desktop.
    • Double-click on HJTInstall.
    • Click on the Install button.
    • It will automatically place HJT in C:\Program Files\TrendMicro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe.
    • Upon install, HijackThis should open for you.
    • Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button
    • HijackThis will scan and then a log will open in notepad.
Copy and then paste the entire contents of the log in your post.
Do not have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

    Joe
