Default Tablet won't connect to home network

I bought a Nexus 7 tablet but it won't connect to my home network. It asks for the password which i assume is the router number but it says authenticating, this seems to take forever then it says authentication problem.

    Sorted now
Note one of the primary purpose of forums is so EVERYONE has an opportunity to learn from the problems of others. "Sorted now" tells us nothing.

    What was wrong?
What did you do to sort it out?

The keypad was set to lower case. I had to change it to enter the router letters as capitals.

    LOL

Well, I see why you didn't want to admit to that, but I assure you - having the caps lock in the wrong setting (though usually it is caps lock on) is something we all have frustratingly done. Fortunately, at least with Windows 7 and 8, a popup appears telling you caps lock is on if you password fails.

    Thanks for sharing.
