    Default Ethernet driver download

Hi, please could someone advise me at all? I have an Acer Aspire one series - ZG5. The notebook won't connect to the internet so I think I may have to reload the ethernet driver for it, this is only a guess of course. Could anyone advise me where to download such a driver from please? Thanks for your time. I'm running Windows XP by the way.

Dear abseh1, thank you for your previous help. I've since (with the helpful link that you provided) managed to identify & install the appropriate driver for my internet connection. However, as soon as I begin typing in the 'Google' search engine, just one letter, the system experiences a crash, I get the error message 'Internet Explorer' has encountered a problem & needs to close down'? There's a code - 0xc0000005? Could this be a driver issue or an actual hardware issue with the notebook?

It could be the driver but I doubt it....it usually would blue screen a driver

You need to be sure you are malware free too

Remove an toolbars etc....may be overkill but if nothing here helps try a OS System Repair
    (backup first)

Hi abseh1, I've tried everything & everything that I know to establish an internet connection with the notebook but nothing is working. The wireless thingy is recognised but doesn't want to initiate no matter what. I've downloaded the appropriate driver but this also hasn't made any difference. I've connected to my modem via a cable but even this doesn't work (it works on my other system). My guess is that the network card in the notebook has failed & needs replacing, what do you think? I haven't got an external CD drive (this would be a lot easier otherwise). But if the network card (or ethernet card) has failed, the only option is to renew the card surely? Sorry to be a pain with this but please would you be able to advise further? Thank you again for your time.

Hi abseh1, thank you for your time & effort on this. Having taken a closer look at the back of the notebook, the model, etc. is:

    Acer Aspire - series one, model number ZG5, S/N: LUS050A10583905C8D2535/SNID: 83902369325

This is the only detailed information I have, sorry. Hope it helps?
