Default Flashplayer updated downloaded and "whitesmoke community" also downloaded.

while visiting a banking website flashplayer update appeared. I downloaded and got more than expected. Whitesmoke community downloaded and i went to add/remove and thought i removed it. apparently not it still appears when I open Firefox.

I cannot find this Whitesmoke anywhere to remove permanently. HELP.

    Hi ceyermann,

Intuition tells me that the update that you installed for Flashplayer might have been a fake.

Please download OTL to your Desktop so I can get a clearer picture of what changes had been made to your system:
    • Right-click on and select Run As Administrator to start the program. If prompted by UAC, please allow it.
    • Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
    • Click the Scan All Users checkbox
      and
    • Check the option for All under the Extra Registry section
    • Click Run Scan at the top left hand corner.
    • When done, two Notepad files will open.
      • OTL.txt <-- Will be opened, maximized
      • Extras.txt <-- Will be minimized on task bar.
    • Please post the contents of both OTL.txt and Extras.txt files in your next reply.

    Thank you,

    Donna

    Thank you DonnaB,

I ran Malwarebytes and Spybot. they found the virus and removed. I also went into FF and disabled the Whitesmoke search. I believe all is fine now. However I will go back to your advice if problem persists.

    thank you,
    Chris
