    Default Bluetooth malfunction

I am running a Toshiba Satellite L750/L755 on Windows 7. Recently, following what appeared to be an intrusive invasion, I lost access to the internet, my Bluetooth facility and the laptop kept freezing up. I checked it out with Malwarebytes and other well known and recommended anti virus programs to no avail. Eventually I decided to take drastic action and do a clean install of Windows 7 which I have done on other computers before. The remaining main problem is that I still cannot revive my Bluetooth facility. I know the drivers are up to date but against the Bluetooth RFCOMM and Bluetooth USB Controller-10 from Toshiba designations is a yellow exclamation mark. When I looked at the properties I got a message "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)". The registry is an area I fear to venture. Can anyone help? I should also say I contacted Toshiba for assistance and after 40 minutes on the phone and taking over my laptop I was told that my laptop had many errors which they were prepared to correct at a price which turned out to be joining their support scheme at prices much beyond my meagre resources. As ever, all advice gratefully received.

Many thanks abseh1. I am really grateful to you for your help but no luck I'm afraid. Anything else I can try? A lot of advice on the net refers to deleting the upper or lower filters in the registry but I would really need an idiot's guide to carry out such an operation. Thanks again.

Again many thanks for all your trouble abseh1. I have tried everything you have suggested but, again, the problem seems to remain with the registry. I have downloaded the latest drivers (several times) and have verified that they are the latest drivers. But what the heck, I was in my 40's before I ever heard of a computer let alone Bluetooth. It's better to have no shoes than no feet. Thanks again.

Hi Abseh1. Good news! I got it sorted. After a long and laboured succession of failures I decided to go back to the start. I uninstalled the Bluetooth drivers and any other software I had downloaded in an attempt to cure the problem. I then re-read your advice but noticed that I had downloaded the Bluetooth stack for 32 bit. I downloaded the 64 bit version, reinstalled the chip set software, rebooted and installed the 64 bit Bluetooth stack software. All is now operating OK. Again my thanks for your help and advice.
