    Default Formatted External hard drive

I'm not quite sure how but whilst I was formatting a usb stick with linux my external hard drive also seems to have been formatted at the same time. My computer doesn't even recognise it now as anything other than a usb pen drive with Linux on it and I can't get it to work as a hard drive again, any advice? The hard drive is a seagate 2TB external hard drive.

Do you have access to another computer?

If so move the hard drive to it and see if it sees it as something different.

Try to format it as what you want it to be.

Just out of curiosity what system are you running on the computer that won't recognize the hard drive properly?

    Good luck.

I will add to ensure you install it in this second computer as a secondary drive - that is, NOT in the boot drive position.
