    Default replacing Vista home premium OPS with windows 8

    I am in the middle of attempting to upgrade my OPS from Windows Vista home premium 32 bit to Windows 8 64 bit. Can this be done? I have a
    Dell Dimension DIME521 desktop PC, AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core processors. 4 gig RAM, 300 GB HD.

    Thanks Joe, what are your concerns as to why you don't suggest changing to Windows 8? Do you have a alternate suggestion? Some of my software is so out dated I cant use word, excell,ETC to read or develop docs from others.

    I have no issue changing to windows 8.1 if you buy a machine with it installed..


    To upgrade to Windows 8.1 from Windows Vista is what I have issue with...

    I don't like up grades they always cause problems from what I see. The link I gave you suggested also to do a clean install of windows 8.1 from DVD. I just would not do it on a computer that was designed for Vista, I think you're asking for problems in up grading as opposed to doing a clean install from DVD . Run the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant and see what it says about your computer.
