    Default Having problems watching videos

I am having a problem watching videos that are in my pictures folder. It says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." I have no clue what this means. Can someone help me?

    Thanks, KylaB

    Hello KylaB97

Windows Media Player cannot play the file.
I would try another player, Ill give you a link below:

Download VLC Media Player 2.1.5 (32-bit) - FileHippo.com <---- Click me. When the web page opens at the top and over towards the right you will see a green box and it says Download latest version click that and download it. Also it's 23 mb big so it's going to take a while.

Let us know how that works.

It won't allow me to download it because I am on Chrome and it said it might harm my browsing experience.

Then I would try Internet explorer, you should see the Icon for Internet explorer on your desktop. The Icon for Internet explorer is a blue (e.) If you don't see the internet explorer Icon on the desktop it may be in the start menu. Click Start and look for the blue e in there. Open Internet explorer and try downloading VLC player...

That's a strange one, a shortcut is when you drag or copy the file in this case a video file to the desktop. It's a shortcut to the real video file. The real file in your case a video file probably lives in you picture folder or a video folder you have. Have you tried going directly to the folder where the video is and double click on it?

It's also possible the video is broken.

For some odd reason it is only working on the Admin account. Most of my videos are on my account though. So is there any way for me to switch the program to my account and have it on both accounts?

So there must be a reason why yours is Not an administrator and it has something to do with Mom, if that is the case then the problem / issue moves to a direct discussion with mom about authorizing you to have an administrator account and or changing you existing account to an administrator account.

Can you ask mom to change your account to administrator privileges for you ?
