    Hi Iamattam,

    Sorry for the delay....

Tapping the F11 key on reboot is supposed to boot you straight into System Recovery. Have you tried that? What happens?

If you are successful, go to the Command Prompt and type in the following:

    chkdsk c: /r

If you have no success, do you have a second computer, a 4GB USB handy and a good connection to download an iso file?

    Hi Iamattam,

I found the thread that you had posted at Tech Support Guy. I see that you had success getting your W8 to boot in normal mode.

Please follow my instructions there. I have a feeling this might be software related and not a hardware issue. I experienced the same thing with a friends W8 back in July of this year.

Also note that I am known as bbbluz on that forum since the username DonnaB was already taken.

Hi DonnaB, thank you for the reply. I will of course follow your instructions & I'll keep you informed accordingly. Please can I also add, I hope you guys at 'help2go' are not offended because I went to an additional 'tech site' for further information. It isn't that I don't trust any of you, and I certainly have no intention of insulting any of you or causing you any offence. I just like to 'touch base' with other support networks with a view to obtaining a broader understanding of things. I do hope you guys indeed understand?

    Hi Iamattam,

Offended? Not at all! Some people do get offended, but you were desperate and I understand that. It is not a good idea to work on the same issue at more than one forum, though. If you follow the instructions of more than one helper without them knowing you are being helped over multiple forum, you could cause irreparable damage to your system because the helpers do not know what the other has done, plus it is also a waste of someones time. It is best to post in your thread to at least let one of the forums know that you have found help.

I am going to close this thread for the time being. The important thing is that you do know that if you ever need our help here at Help2Go, we're here for you.
