    Default Windows 8.1

Hello, to all at help2go! This is kind of a 2 part question and sorry for the length. I have a Toshbia with windows 7 installed. This computer got a ??? (thru searching and running software, from H2G) I managed to get it back to normal, well almost. I used absolute uninstaller to get rid of all unwanted programs, got a clean bill of health from malware, ran farbar..most of the results looked OK, ran SFC /scan now it came back ok.

Now the problem, when I would go to forums with log in sites with user name and password, I would get a little eye, with eye brow in the upper right hand corner and would not always be logged in. So to make life happy I bought a new laptop, a Toshiba l-55 with windows 8.1. I got online and went straight to H2G, downloaded WOT, CC, malware. Well I still have a little Icon (not sure that's the correct verbiage) the eye, with eyebrow in the upper right of password box. Is this a problem?

Oups sorry all of this started on Feb. 10th and I got the new comp on fri. the 13th. Only my wife and I use this comp. and usually only go to known sites, that are WOT approved, so I am hoping we don't have an issue already... malware scan showed nothing.

I haven't had a chance to talk to college kid, but used her log files, as a way to judge mine, hence the new computer.

The real question what the heck, is the eyecon in the password box? Sorry for the long read and TIA, crash.

    Hello,

Post the 2 Farber scan report logs. That creates a starting point for us. As far as the Eyecon have no clue just yet.

Download the version of this tool for your operating system.
Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (64 bit)
farbar-recovery-scan-tool/dl/81/Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (32 bit)
and save it to a folder on your computer's Desktop.
Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    Press Scan button.
It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please also paste it to your reply.

If you have already run the tool and you're going to run it again, make sure there is a check mark in the Additions.txt box so it creates that log too.

Joe, thank you for the quick reply! I currently am working on cleaning off, ah all the good stuff that comes pre loaded on 8.1. I am also transferring pictures from an external hard drive...stayin busy. I used to run Mozilla, but will stick to Explorer till I get all this junk cleaned up and off.

After deleting a lot of automatic savings of passwords, getting rid of auto complete, tracking, I did not have the little eyecon in the password box! I am starting to think I just needed to get things set up my way...only opening 1 home page instead of 2 tabs (Toshiba automatically launched there own). CC used to run for about 45seconds, on this machine it would take up to 6 minutes! If the problems still exists, or comes back I will let you know!

I would give you the logs, but I have never done that and not to sure I can! I can muddle my way thru a lot of this stuff, but not to sure I can do that. I have never even posted a picture to a web page, makes me way behind the times! The next time college kid comes over or if my other child can show me how I will post those logs! I am sorry I cant help you help me!

I am going to keep plugging away and if deleting all the bs. makes C cleaner run faster (like it used to Win 7) and no more eyecon, I will be happy!

    Thank You very much!

Well how about that, I got it! not to hard, select all, edit copy ,paste.

Joe this is from the windows 7 computer, not the windows 8.1. I do not have the eyecon on H2G forum but if I go to a jeep forum its still there? I am starting to think it is a way of 8.1 letting me know its saving my password? Just a guess?

If you want to move this to spyware, that would be fine, I just didn't know how to post a log, so that didn't follow the rules!
    I will stay in touch.

    Thank you, crash

Hello, zep 516 Thanks for your help. after talking to college kid and re-installing firefox my little eyecon is gone! It is still there with explorer, with every forum except this one ? All this was done on the windows 7 computer.

I want to keep the new computer 8.1( as Microsoft as I can keep it,) until I learn more about the new OS, when the tech support runs out game on!

If anyone finds out that the little eyecon is a threat please let me know. Thanks again..crash
