    Hello,

    As far as I can tell;
    The Fax should only turn on when you try to use it, there is no way to turn it off completely.

    Can you describe the problem you're having in more detail perhaps.

    I am going to take a guess here and assume you are tired of this fax machine answering your phone all the time - even with normal voice calls. IF this machine has an "auto-answer" function, you should be able to set it to off. Then you can still send faxes anytime you want, but to receive, you will need to set it to auto again.

    If it does not have a power off switch, you can unplug it. But then you may need to swing the phone lines over to your phone instead of the fax first.

    All of this should be in the manual/user guide.

    Beyond that, as Joe noted, we need more details.

    Yes you are right,I want to use the telephone and answer machine facility only.The paper and ink used for marketing (cold calling)is unbelievable,thats not counting the times Ive jumped out of bed when a fax comes through early hours of the morning.The manual doest give any guidance to to turn off the fax facility.

    I assure you, it is in there. Look under Answer Mode.

    Hello Digerati,
    I've gone to answer mode in the manual.
    I was given three choices: FAX ONLY
    FAX/TEL and MANUAL
    I've chosen manual, do you think this will work?
    Thanks,

    I hope so. It reads as if that is what you want. I guess only you can tell us if it works. Please keep us posted.
