Unhappy Just one USB port is totally dead

Machine is Windows 10 PC, and is up to date and no viruses or any other problems.
This one USB port is not recognized at all when you plug into it, and includes power; it is DEAD.
Mechanically, the port is fine, nothing wiggles or moves, and it has never been stressed or bent.
I saw there is a "trick" of completely turning machine off, pulling plug from the wall and letting it sit for several minutes.
I let it sit for an hour, then restarted. Didn't help.
Have also gone back in time, previous "images," still n/g.
Thanks for any suggestion, and rgds

    Hi paulandjean,

When did you notice that the USB port was not working?

Is this a Windows 10 upgrade?

Thanks for trying to help Donna, you are most kind. Sadly, instructions in the link, had already done all of them, and more. Guess will just have to give up on this one. rgds.

absolutely. But unfortunately not always put to good use. A.Hitler was a master of this technique. Socially, he would make you feel as if you were a king! Was nevertheless not a nice man (Google the name if you are under age 40).
