Default All saved IE 11 favorite content is missing

I left my PC running overnight, like I do every night, but this morning found that most all my Internet explorer, (IE 11) favorites folders and favorites bar tabs were empty. I have many years of saved favorites and hopefully can find help here to restore all the saved web pages.
    Thank you for your consideration.

    Hello capndavid,

Ouch! What operating system are you running ?

This one where these instructions are given
Assuming that the Favorites/folders have disappeared from both the view within Internet Explorer and the %userprofile%\favorites location, try using previous versions to return the missing files/folders:

    Click Start.
    Click Computer.
Type %userprofile% into the Address bar.
    Press Enter on your keyboard.
    Right click the Favorites folder.
    Click Properties.
    Click Previous Versions.
Wait for the list of previous versions to load.
Select a version that was before you lost the files/folders.
    Click Restore.

Hi Zep516, good to hear from you and thanks for the response. My Dell XPS desktop is running W10 home edition. The only thing I did last night was update another desktop to W8.1. That desktop is connected on a LAN along with this desktop that had the IE favorites folders emptied of content. Not sure if that is helpful. I know I have configured all pc on my LAN to find each other and share folders. Make sense? Is that possible?

See if there is anything here that helps you. I'm not finding much on an exact solution to the issue
