The cd player window pops up, & i can listen to the music through the headphones but it won't play it through the speakers.A friend tried to fix it but it says " You do not have MMR capabilities" or something to that effect. Can someone please help!

Sometimes your motherboard cant supply power to your speakers and they wont work, if you get speakers that plug into the wall it might help

Check tha all is connected. If you have speakers with an on/off switch and/or volume control use the Line Out socket on the sound card. If not use Speaker socket

Click on the small speaker on the task bar (Next to the clock) and make sure all the contols are unchecked and set.
If there is no speaker click Start>run type sndvol32.exe and click ok or Start>Programs>Accesories>Entertainment
