I have reading the topics regarding this subject especially those from 'Whoozhe' who advises that a good clean out one a year gives the PC a new lease of Life.

What I would like to know is how can I do this...I have Windows XP Pro which I upgraded to from Windows ME. If I reformat the hard drive after backing up essential files, do I just put the cd in the drive and get it going? or would I have to purchase the whole WindowsXP program rather than the upgrade I have?

Any advise would be most welcome(hope u can understand my message

Fortunately XP makes life a little easier as it manages the hard drive better than previous versions.
As with reinstalling a clean copy as long as you have a Windows 98/me cd you are ok. The XP upgrade will ask for verification that you own a previous version and will ask you to insert the older CD for checking.
