    I run windows98SE.I keep installing and uninstalling new programmes very often including freeware and shareware.My knowledge of registry is about zero.I dont know how to make a backup of registry . Please let me know how can I make a backup and how often I need to make it . Thank you

    Hi:
    With Windows 98 you really don't need to worry about backing up the Registry because its already taken care of for you (once a day at boot-up ).

    However if you want to do it manually you can do so as well. Probably the best bet would be to go to Google and type in: "back up registry windows 98" and you should get some sites that will give you detailed instructions.

    Click Stat>Run type regedit.
    Once regedit is open Click File>Export

    I work in a shop that repairs computers and we always back up the registry before and after installing new software or making changes to a customer's computer.
    We save these and name then before service and after service.
    We also print to file all settings in device manager, this way if the computer comes back later on messed up we can restore everything.
