    My cd-r drive is gone... when i go to computers there used to be a drive F n its gone...it was there like 2 days ago someone please help me get it back??/

    1. start your computer using start-up disk with cd rom support. If this runs ok than your cd rom is ok, if not, your cd rom may need replacing. Check all cables first to make sure they are not loose.
    2. if your cd rom is ok go into the control panel/system/device manage/ and click on cd rom. check properties and see what drive letter is assigned. if blank assign a letter and restart your computer.

    Right click My Computer, choose properties, Device Manager
    Scroll down to the CD Drive line and clcik on the + sign
    If there is a problem then there will be a yellow ! alongside the CD Drive line.
    This means you will have to reinstall it.
    You could try disconnecting the drive rebhoot, reconnect it and boot up again. if the drive is ok windows should find it and install the drivers.
