    ok i dont know much about pcs
    every now and again i get a clicking noise from my speakers. i followed your advice from another posting start/settings/control panel/sound
    when i tried to preview a sound to delete it it said my sound card was already in use
    i dont get it

    Firstly download and upgrade the sound card drivers.
    Make sure that no Instant Message programs are running in the background. AIM, Yahoo and a few others tend to hog the sound card when running.
    The same can occur whith having any media player open, especially real player.
    Press the keyboard "Ctrl Alt & Del" keys together and check the list that pops up. This shows you what is currently running. Some are essential. Most are not. eg exporer and systray are essential.
