    the last time i shut down my computer it was working fine, now when i try to start it it gets to where it would say starting windows 98 but now says invalid partition table setup cannot continue. I can't get it to go anywher else.Please help!!!

    Sounds like the petiton is damaged (fat32)
    Try booting up using a windows start up disk and runs scandisk.

    I did a scandisk and it said that nothing was wrong, so I tried the setup again and it did the same thing. Still need help!

    If you have tried reinstalling then here's another one. Find out the manufacturer for your hard drive (usually maxtor/western digital). Go to their website and see if you can download a format utility that will write zeroes to the drive. This is a FULL format and anything you may have had will be completely lost. Once the format is finished, reinstall.

    I have never reformated befor so if you can guide me through I would be very happy.
