    I have a recently purchased P4 2.2 Ghz system that I need some help with.

    The problem is this.

    Approximately every 2 - 5 minutes or so, the HD gets a read request, then the zip drive is read. During this process, the Hour glass appears and nothing can be done on the system (i.e. the system lags) until the zip disk is read.

    Is there a utility out there than can tell me what is causing this disk read and System Lag?
    I.e. that can tell me which program is causing this?

    Here is the basics of the system.

    ECP M902ULR mother board
    512 MB DDR Ram
    HD = 80 gig Maxtor
    Video = ASUS V8170DDR/T 64 meg
    250 MB Iomega Zip

    I run Norton System Works 2001 which includes Norton Antivirus ver 7.07.23D

    This is driving me crazy.

    Please Help.

    If you run XP toss the zip drive in the bin.
    Iomega made a mess of the drivers and there work around failed to solve the problem. Buy a cd rw burner.

    Thanks very much. I am running Win 98 SE. For the heck of it I disconnected the ZIP Drive and unloaded the Iomega software.

    Would you believe the problem went away. So far in my experiences with Iomega, this seems to be par for the course.

    Thanks again,

    I should have known.
