I'm installed a used working formatted Hard disk into my 486 but i wanna install Win95 on it but it keeps saying HDD failure and it asks for boot disk. I put in my boot disk and it says system error. How do i get my computer going again?

The disk is not formatted properly. It is missing the system files needed to boot.
You can try and reformat the disk via DOS using the command (without quotes) "format c: /s" (The /s will make sure the system files are added to the drive. Note the space between c: and /s)

I tried to format my computer again but it won't let me enter the command prompt. I press f8 and nothing happens. It's stuck on insert boot disk. Maybe the boot disk i have is wrong. I got it at Bootdisk.com - which is the best one to download for 486?
