    Default Another Networking question

I have a external cable modem and the network cable plugged into it plugs into a little box type thing about 2 inchs big which is a RJ-45 to USB converter and i plus the USB into my computer for it to work

what i wanna kno is.. im going to a LAN party soon and i dont have a workin 10/100 network adapter :x So i was wondering if i could just take the network cable and plug it into the RJ-45 to USB converter thing and have it work that way.. so i wont need to buy a network card

i need it to work if i take a cable plugged into a hub and plug it into that little converter.. then to the USB port on the back of my computer

    It should work right?

Theoretically it should. Then a network card cost next to nothing.
