Default Parallel Connection XP and 2000

How do I establish a parallel connection (laplink cable) btw my laptop (running 2000) and my desktop (running XP Home)?

Laplink Gold doesnt support parallel connections on Windows 2000, and if I connect with Windows Direct Cable Connection (Assessories / Communications) the Host doesnt find the Guest in Explorer (ie it seems to connect but how do I move the files?). I can write CDs from Desktop to read on the laptop, but I have no way of moving files bigger than a floppy from the laptop to desktop. Any ideas? What the hell is wrong with Laplink?

    Thanks

Open up Windows Help (Start>Help) Type in Networking. When you click on any subject you should get a video on the process.

go to a comp stoe and ask for connection converters you can comvert the wire to a mouse port or something just hook it on. This will fool the computer into thinking you are working right.... just a thought.... (i don't have many :-? )
