It adjusts up and down but when I have it mid way I hear hardly no sound at all and when I have it all the way up I have normal sound.

Check your device manager too see if there is any conflict with your sound. IF all is good - then take a look at these tips before buying a new pair.

When you say you have your sound all the way up.....do you also have the volume controls all the way up on the program you use to listen to the audio? Not to make you look like an idiot or anything...just curious.

Click on the Speaker Icon (Next to clock)
    Once opened clcik on Options/Properties.
Check all the boxes listed then OK
Now you should see all the volume control available to you.
For sound there are several, depending on where the sound comes from.
CD Audio, Wave, SW Synth (midi) Aux. Mike and MAster are the amin ones.
They all need to be set.
Another possibilty is the way you have your speakers connected.
If you speakers have no volume control or on/off switch then use the speaker out socket on the sound card. This utilized the sound cards built in Amp. If your speaker do have these then use the Line Out. This in turn uses the speaker's amplifier.
