Default ScanDisk runs at startup every time I turn it on - HJT log

Even when I shut down properly, it says I don't. Not really sure why... Spybot and AdAware don't find anything, did a virus scan with updated Symantec a couple days ago... nothing. Here's the log from HJT.

If the scanner runs on every startup then it means the system did not shut down correctly.
So you should be looking at shutdown problems.
Shutdown problems can be caused by anything from a bad sound file to Norton Antivirus with drivers, spyware and adwae in between.
I am sure Steamwiz will find loads in your log to fix but basically the more Auto Updates, Messengers and that insidious realsched running the more problems you will have.
Take control of your life. Leave others to control their own.

    Hi

You don't have anything bad in your log, this will clean it up....

Close ALL browser windows (including this one) - run hijackthis and tick to fix (check the box next to) the list below.........when all are ticked (checked) click the Fix Checked button at the bottom. :-

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchAssistant = about:blank
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

    O2 - BHO: MyWay Search Assistant BHO - {04079851-5845-4dea-848C-3ECD647AA554} - (no file)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot

Well, it's stopped doing that, so I guess that fixed it. Thanks! Now it shows a DOS looking screen with Set Blaster ... and Set something else, but I guess that's normal. I'll write those down.

Don't worry about the SET commands that you are seeing during bootup. that's normal for windows 9x. It's part of the startup process for Sound Blaster drivers.
