Default Can't go from one site to another

I am using a Dell 4600 with Windows XP, IE 6 (Q831167). When I go to a web site, such as Galveston.com, some web cam pictures appear. If I double click on one of the pictures, it is supposed to be replaced with a larger picture. This doesn't happen. The address of the picture appears in an IE address line on the bottom of my computer screen, but the web site address on the top of my screen does not change. This happens at many other sites also. I have tried every thing I can think of, to no avail. My computer also runs slower than it should, even tho I have done the usual deleting cookies, etc. I have run various control panel fix options but they don't work either. Any ideas?

Are you using ANY type of pop up blocker, like goggle tool bar ? If so over ride/turn it off and see if this is the problem.

    Cheers

Several new critical updates came out recently for IE. Suggest you download updates and see it the problem persists.
