    Default boot up problem

    Recently my laptop starts crashing shortly after i see the XP Pro logo, i see a blue screen for an instant with stuff writen on it but the system reboots before i'm able to read what the problem is. Is there any way i can stop the system rebooting or is there a log on which this message would be stored or something to help me locate the problem?

    One trick I have used is to use a digital camera to capture these really quick screens. Keep the flash off.

    The blue screen message reads

    STOP: C0000218 {registry failure}
    The registry cannot load the hive (file)
    \systemroot\system32\config\software
    or its log or alternate
    it is corrupt, absent, or not writable

    Begining dup of physical memory
    Physical memory dump complete
    Contact your system administrator or technical
    assistance

    There might be a word or two missing the pictures i took wern't great but hopefully this'll help.
