Default Need opinion on the "Registry Mechanic" program &g

Is the Registry Mechanic program worth purchasing?

Ran the free scan and it found over 500 problems, but the only way to repair them is to purchase their program.

Have Windows 98 with NAV system.

Generally, I find these types of programs are a rip off. Chances are real good that you do not have this many errors.

If you want a program like this, search for one that offers a free trail period. If you like it then you can buy it.

    Cheers

I'm sure there are some free or very reasonable programs that will do the job. I found an OEM version of Norton System Works 2003 last year for about $12 that included one year of Anti-Virus updates. I would just be sure that what you get automatically fixes the problems. The registry is nothing you want to fool around with unless you know exactly what you are doing.
