    Default Error Message

    Recently my laptop has started displaying a blue screen with this message:

    A problem has been detected windows has shutdown to prevent dammage.

    KERNAL_DATA_INPUT_ERROR

    If this is the first time you have seen this error restart the system otherwise follow these steps:

    Check new hardware or software has been properly insatlled

    if problem continues disable or remove new hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as chaching or shadowing.

    Does anyone know what this message means? Its an XP Pro system, Intel Pentium 3 1.2GHz, 256MB Ram

    This indicates a physical problem with the system. It is most probably memory.
    You need to do what is advised to isolate the problem. Being a laptop I suggest you take it to a technician.
    Take control of your life. Leave others to control their own.
