Default How do I nuke my computer?

I have been having problems with my computer for months now and I am sick of it. So I am going to extreme measures and want to nuke it and just reinstall everything. There is nothing I have saved on it I need anyway so this seems the best option to me. I have tried everything else, but nothing works, I can't even download anything now so I can't use hijack this. So please let me know how to format it so I can enjoy my computer again.

    What operating system?
A good horse, strong woman and my .30-.30 rifle. Not much more a man needs. (well, except a computer that is!!)

I am not sure if that is what you mean by operating systems or not...not very computer literate I am afraid.

We need to know if you are running Windows 98, Windows XP, or Windows ME. Do you have the installation disk to put the operating system back on the computer after you wipe everything out. Reformatting will erase everything on the drive, so copy anything you need to a Cd or floppy.

Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME

Although it does say Windows 98, generally the same...

If you (or anyone else reading this) want(s) to try another option go to

    http://dban.sourceforge.net/

If you still can't get online ask a friend to go to this site and follow instructions to create a "boot & nuke" disk. Then load the disk into your machine and start up.

    TAKE GREAT CARE.

BE WARNED... EVERTHING WILL BE COMPLETELY ERASED ON START UP.

I AM TAKING NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING THAT GOES WRONG IF THIS PROGRAM IS USED INCORRECTLY. NEITHER IS ANYONE ELSE AT THIS SITE.

Recommend you don't leave the nuke disk laying around for anyone else to pick it up inadvertantly and load by mistake. Maybe destroy the disk after use. I've hidden my copy very deeply.

    Hope all goes well.
