When I accessed Windows Explorer I found thousands of files in the following folder:
C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
Most of these files are very old, but for some reason they are not being deleted, as I have my browser IE to keep Temporary Internet Files for only 5 days. And even when I run Disk Cleanup and delete my Temporary Internet Files, they still remain on my computer.
Why are these files not being automatically deleted and what can I do about it?
Hi Frenchy, for some reason disk cleanup doesn't clean up everything. You can go into the temp file Edit>select all and delete. This should do the trick. If you have $40.00 US to spare. there is an excellent program that will keep your pc clean of temp files and cookies (it will keep the cookies you need to keep if you set it up) .. it's called Windows Washer see http://www.webroot.com/products/windowwasher .. there is a trial offer if interested.
