    Hi markbuk32

This eror message is related to a "MatrixDialer" infection. Recommend you clean out your system as follows.

Please go to the link below and follow ALL procedures.

    http://www.help2go.com/article217.html

Note – you will need IE4 or higher to run the procedures set out there AND your ActiveX controls turned ON. ActiveX may be an issue when using XP/MS2003 programs as ActiveX controls could be switched OFF by default.

You may still have difficulties after following those procedures. if so then……

    1. ensure you have donwloaded the latest version of “hijackthis”
    2. run the program through your computer
    3. store the resulting log safely in case future reference is needed to it [e.g. on C drive "save as" C:\hijackthis].
    4. Post the log back to this thread using copy and paste. [Use the POST REPLY button at the foot of this thread]

Also please bear in mind that that your log may only be answered between 20.00 GMT and 00.00 GMT. This is when our resident HJT expert, Steamwiz, is online in the UK.

Also keep a watch on this post as it may be moved by one of our moderators to another part of the site, maybe the “Spyware” forum.

Hope this helps and do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes

Have you tried to get HJT from these sites? These are the locations recommended in the "Help2Go" article I mentioned in my last post.

    http://www.computercops.biz/downloads-file-328.html

    http://www.allsecpros.com/download/hijackthis.zip

Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

Ah..SP2. Anyway. You should really post your log in the 'Spyware Forum'. You could post it again there or a moderator will move it. It's possible that it will be seen sooner if you repost under 'New Topic' in the spyware forum. Steamwiz will get to it as soon as he can, he is usually on-line 8.00pm to midnight UK time. However, it's pouring down here in the UK so he may be around sooner. If you repost give a brief run down of the procedures that you have already carried out and then tag your Log on the end. Regards

Sorry to hear that. Stick with us.

Your log does indeed show nasties are present and KazaaLite appears.

To help in ridding your machine of Kazaa try this to clean it from your system.

Go to the Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs.

Remove P2P Networking .... it's a useless Kazaa add on that's been proven to slow down systems.......... If/when asked whether you also want to remove Altnet components, say 'Yes'

Warning...Before running Kazaabegone Save any music files etc. you have in Kazaa shared folders ... once you run Kazaabegone ... these will be lost forever

When you have removed Kazaa from your computer....run this program as well...

    www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=3446

It will remove all the rubbish left behind by the Kazaa uninstall.

If you still have problems after you have removed kazaa (highly probable given what's in your log) you might like to re-run the programs in article217 (see post #2 above) then re-run HJT and re-post the new log.

All this might take a time but worth the exercise.

I'm sure Steamwiz will have a close look through it and give you excellent advice. Remember he won't be able to look at it until this evening at the very earliest. Stay in touch.

Sorry about that Mark. I think having gone this far you may as well stay here and get your problems sorted. Regards.
I know everything about nothing, nothing about everything and precious little about the bit in between.
