    Default ERASE A HARD DRIVE

I INSTALLED A NEW 120GB HARD DRIVE ON MY SYSTEM ALONG WITH MY EXISTING 40GB AND WANTED TO MAKE IT MY MASTER AND MY 40GB MY SLAVE. I USED THE DATA TRANSFER PROGRAM THAT CAME WITH THE 12O TO TRANSFER MY FILES FROM DRIVE C TO DRIVE D BUT INSTEAD OF TRANSFERING MY WHOLE DESKTOP I JUST TRANSFERED DRIVE C AND WHEN I HOOK UP THE 120 AS THE MASTER WITHOUT THE 40 HOOKED UP THE SYSTEM WILL NOT BOOT.
IF I DO THE TRANSFER AGAIN USING THE DESKTOP WILL IT OVERWRITE THE FILES ALLREADY ON THE 120 OR WILL IT DUPLICATE THEM???
OR HOW DO I COMPLETLY ERASE ALL DATA FROM THE 120 AND START NEW AGAIN???
I WOULD SURE APPRECIATE ANY HELP THAT I CAN GET HERE!!!!!!!
    THANKYOU

As long as you are going to keep the old 40 gig drive, I would leave the operating system on the old drive and leave it as master. Transfer your other files to the new drive such as mp3, photo, word processing documents etc. It is difficult to get XP to boot from a different drive than it was originally installled on, especially if it was an OEM installation (no installation disk)
