    Default No USB Connection

I just recently purchased a used computer. I went out to buy a printer that needs a USB cord but the computer does not have one. I purchased a USB port and installed it but the computer is not allowing me to connect the printer. what could be wrong

Is this a USb PCI card that you are installing? Either 98 or XP should recognize the new hardware and ask for the driver to be installed. Once the driver is installed it should work. If it is a USB port that is added to the front of the computer, the connections must be made to the motherboard and the BIOS must be set to enable USB. More info please. Charlie
