    Default How to Remove a WRITE-PROTECTED CD-RW?

I am trying to backup my folders and files onto my CD-RW disc and an error comes up with "THIS MEDIA IS WRITE-PROTECTED. REMOVE THE WRITE PROTECTION OR INSERT ANOTHER MEDIA TO CONTINUE." I have tried this with other CD-RW'S and no luck; the same error message comes up as above. Can some one help me on how to solve this problem? This is my first time on this forum; I will be glad for the direct reply to my problem.

    Thanks,

    Ezzie.

    Hi

    Are you sure it is a CD-RW and not a CD-R ?

I hope you are also aware that CD-RW's are not as stable as CD-R's, and after a while the data on a CD-RW will become unreadable.

    Some details please.
    CD writer brand and model
    Software being used to burn

Also check the files you are trying to burn and make sure they are not write protected.
Right click on the files and choose Properties.

Some programs prefer you to use their own built in backup system. You can then burn the backed up file.
