It happens with every game. I have all the latest drivers (agp drivers, video card, bios) I've reinstalled windows. I've replaced my video card, motherboard, proccessor, hard drive, sound card. Pretty much the only thing that hasn't been replaced is my ram and power supply.

Second problem is when I installed my new stuff I now get an DEP error every time i reboot my computer and it's telling me that windows explorer and some njn program won't run.

    Any help would be great.

Hallo Sped - Have you XP service Pack2 installed? Go here for more info on DEP - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875351
There is also reference elsewhere regarding possible infection. I suggest you go to the link above first and see if that helps. If not go here - http://www.help2go.com/article217.html and run through the various processes and post a HiJack Log at he end of this topic. Alternatively you can copy your Log to the H2G Detective, link above left listed under sections, and submit it for automatic check. The Detective is still at test stage so you use at your own risk. If you choose to post your log in this thread then someone will check it over. Please be patient, it's Christmas and a lot of people are busy.Regards.

So far so good - What is the game? and when did you install SP2?
Edit: I se your game is Everquest.
How much Ram do you have? 256 Minimum for XP, 512 better.
You could try uninstalling SP2. If you are low on Ram this MIGHT be the problem. Unfortunately I have to sign off now, heading away for a few days. Keep posting, others will probably be online. If you manage to resolve your problem then please post the information here for future reference. Have a good Xmas. Regards.

I have 1gig ddr400 ram. I've had the problem before sp2 was out and It didn't fix the problem or make it worse. It happens in every game. everquest, warcraft, star wars. Thanks for the help so far.

Hallo Sped - Great news that you got it sorted, and many thanks for posting the fix. From your post I'm assuming that you needed more than 1Gig of Ram. Or was your existing faulty? 1Gig + to run a game aaaagghhh. The designers must be in for a percentage from the Ram manufacturers :P Regards

It was faulty ram from the factory. I had 2 512 sticks and one of them was bad.

    Default your fault crashing

    sped:
that faulting error and crashing to desktop is most likely due to:

    a)bad/faulty ram
b)good ram but overclocked beyond specifications
