Default Unable to open new browser window in IE6

I am unable to open new browser windows in Internet Explorer 6 (IE6). When I use CTRL-N, a new window replaces the old, but only one window is open at a time. Thus, I can't have two or more browser windows going at the same time. When websites redirect me to a new URL, oftentimes the new window replaces the old, making it impossible to go back to my original window. I use AdsGone 2004, Ad-Aware SE, SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard, Spybot Search & Destroy, HiJack This, Bazooka, CWShredder, and Norton System Works. Disabling these programs doesn't seem to help. I can't find the cause for this problem, and it makes surfing the Internet frustrating. Thanks in advance for your help!

Ya know, I actually had this problem a while back. It was the exact same problem. I would click "File" then "new" then "window" and the parent window would be taken out by my new one. I used that option so much. I tried everything I could think of but nothing actually worked until I did a format/reinstall. I just thought i'd throw my 2 cents in and hope you find the answer without having to format/reinstall.

Default Unable to open new browser window in IE6

    Jaimers, Happy New Year.
Initial simple answer:Hold "Shift" key down and click on link
That should open a new window.BTW,also useful when posting,
like in this forum. You can see both-msg and post.
If that doesn't work, you have your permissions set to allow
only one window open. Some can be set under Tools > Internet
Options > Advanced, Others are set under >"Security" >Internet > Custom Level.
There are numerous sites with info about IE , some are:
    http://www.ieinfosite.co.uk/
    http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/
There are many more, just Google "IE" or "Internet Explorer"
IMHO, no immediate need for a reformat/reinstall.
    Hope this helped a little.
    Pete.
