    Default Scheduled Task error message

Hi All. Was just told about this forum in a WW'ing forum's OT section.

My neighbor just bought his first computer and I'm trying to help him out with it. 8O It is a DELL running WIN/XP. I cannot get any scheduled tasks to run. I get Specific error - 0x80070005: access is denied. I was sent to an MS site and it has a "Workaround" fix for it. Would this be a good idea or should he retrieve updates manually? It won't DeFrag or update his AV. They say a fix is coming in a new Service Pack and wait for that if you can. Any help would definitely be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Joe

It could be a installation error...i would try the workaround and if all else fails try reinstalling the system os

Thanks. I'll see if I can do it tomorrow. I really don't know much about computers and was hesitant to try it. I guess I can go to "Restore" if I screw anything up.

    Thanks again,

    Joe

yea i did a bit of reading on this and the only thing i came up with was a reinstallation of your os. If you need help on that just let me know i'll be glad to help.
