    Hi Murali ..

    Follow the link given below...

    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=321305

If it doesn't work try to locate the CMOS battery on your mother board..unplug it for about 5 minute(this will earase all pass words) then put it back in and start your computer.its that easy...good luck

    Be care ..gud luck!

If removing the battery will eliminate all passwords, does this mean that using a password does not really protect you? It is a nuisance always to be entering passwords, and if all an intruder would need is to remove a battery for five minutes to bypass them, will stop doing it. Any info apprec.

    paulandjean,

If you remove the battery for the CMOS all that is going to do is reset the CMOS battery NOT the windows XP password.

THere is a very easy to use password reset program for the local admin password or anyone elses local password (as opposed to network pass) located here..

    http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

read the site and follow the directions. This is relatively easy to use and it is also free.
