    Default Modem

    On the back of the computer there is 2 phone ports coming out from the modm one is for the computer to dial the internet but what is the other one for? If u know can u email me on (edit)

    Is the second one slightly wider? If it is, then it is a network conection slot. This is the main conection for Local Area Network's (LAN's) and nowadays, broadband internet.
    The cable that conects to this is called a Cat 5e. The ends look like phone plugs but are slightly wider, I think they have eight pins (or metal contacts).

    To answer your question, one is input (as you note) the other is output, this can be used to put a telephone on or fax machine etc.
