Default how to change desktop wallpapers........

I know this seems like an easy question, however...I'm stumped. I have Windows 2000 NT. I put together my own desktop theme complete with Star Wars background, icons, and WAV files. The only thing I was (& am) unable to do was change the wallpaper that loads first when I boot my OS. I tried everything I could think of with some help from Galena1..............thanks again........but, still no luck. Again, not an emergency but any feedback is appreciated.

    thanks,

Put the picture you want as wallpaper in your "my pictures" file.
    Right click on the desktop.
    Select properties > desktop.
The picture should be listed in the background list.
    Select it and click OK.
I'd love to see a screenshot of the finished item.

    Default any more ideas?

Thanks for responding...however, it didn't work. The background pic I'm trying to change only lasts a few seconds untill my OS loads and my wallpaper pops up. Any more ideas?

    Thanks again,

    Default control panel

I feel sure you have checked, but all of my wallpapers and screen savers are stored under control panel settings
you do not just tell them it is so.
you show them the reasons why it is so.
and then you repeat and repeat untill they are convinced they know.

    Default ....think I got it

Well, with a little experimenting...I think I got it. I had to open up the necessary jpg with internet explorer. Then, I right clicked and choose the option "Set As Desktop Item". It asks you if you want to add this Active Desktop item to your desktop. I choose yes...it displays the pic on the desktop....not as the current wallpaper but, in it's own window. I closed out the pic and.....oddly enough, when I shut windows down the pic was the last thing I saw....pretty cool. I'm still experimenting but, it appears we have a winner.....thanks again.

Any chance we get to see the finished screen?
    Thanks for the feedback.
