    Default sound card

    I have a "Giggabyte" motherboard with onboard sound.[VIA VT1616]
    The mike in & Line in Ports don't work.Can I install a sound card in one of the pci slots & Is their any traps

    Try going to CONTROL PANEL, SOUND- SPEECH and AUDIO DEVICES. You should get an option of ADVANCED VOLUME CONTROLS in the upper left of the window. Click on that and see if the mic and line in ports are muted. Uncheck the mute box and see if they work. Charlie
