    Default Downloading Problems

Whenever I try to download a file from the internet, no matter what type of file it is I always get a message box (as shown in my attachment). This is all very well apart from when I try to click on any of the options such as "OPEN" or "SAVE" the computer does absolutly nothing. The only button I can click on is "CANCEL", which cancels the download

Any idea why this might be????

    All help greatly appreciated

    Cheers

Try chkdsk /f to see if there are any damaged windows files. Go to Start>Run> type in chkdsk /f (note the space between the k and /) >OK. A window will probably tell you to reboot the PC, when this happens chkdsk will run through its process. Hopefully this will solve the problem.

    Thanks for the speedy reply.

Have tried the chkdsk /f that you mentioned however upon running the chkdsk /f command as you described I was presented with the screen shown in the chkdsk attachment.

I then ran the "SCANDISK" command and was told that all my files were fine (scansisk1 attachment).

I tried to download a file but it still did not work

Any other ideas what may be wrong?
